The Harry Potter Universe

The Harry Potter Universe was first started in 1997 when J.K Rowling released the first book of the franchise, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. From that point, this magical universe has been drawing in audiences of all ages to experience the whimsical and exciting world of Harry Potter. J.K Rowling went on to release six more books, concluding the series with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. All of the books in the series were adapted into films that bring the Harry Potter Universe to life.

The film franchise started in 2001 when Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was released to eager audiences who were anxiously waiting for the movie version of their favorite fantasy book. The film took the world by storm and the Warner Brothers went on to release seven more films. The story of Harry Potter begins with young Harry living with his aunt and uncle after his parents were killed by a notorious evil wizard named Voldemort. Harry not knowing this, went on for eleven years without knowing that he was a wizard. After a large man named Hagrid came along to tell him the truth, Harry was on his way to Hogwarts with two new friends, Ron and Hermione. Harry eventually finds out that he is the “chosen one” and for Voldemort to live, he must kill Harry. Potter continues his education at Hogwarts, and with the help of his friends, survives numerous attacks on his life by various professors, monsters, and Voldemort himself.

Overall, the Harry Potter film franchise is a series of magical and beautiful cinematic masterpieces that make the audience feel like they are studying at Hogwarts along with Harry. They all have a nostalgic and comforting feel to them that keeps people coming back to them. The colors and the beautiful and impactful music by John Williams create a whimsical and beautiful atmosphere that can only be described as truly magical. I recommend these films to anyone who is looking to get absolutely lost in an enchanting fantasy world.
